How about another College Romance?

Horos development is going just phenomenal - 70% of all sex scenes, side quests, all combat and dialogs are implemented. Right now, we're testing everything and completing all missing scenes. I just love what we've got so far.

But let's talk about something different today.

Do you remember College Romance? The game originally launched back in 2014, which means it's now more than twelve years old. Time really flies. I still remember how warmly it was received by players and how much charm such a simple project managed to deliver.

At its core, College Romance was a lighthearted dating sim built around college life. You attended classes, improved your stats, and pursued relationships with three adorable girls, all wrapped in a cozy atmosphere of studying, friendships, and soft romance. It was easy to pick up, relaxing to play, and if memory serves me right, it featured three intimate scenes with animations that consisted of just a few frames. Simple by today's standards, but back then it did exactly what it needed to do.

A few years ago, I started working on a refreshed version of the game. We rendered a new scene, explored new ideas, and laid the groundwork for something much bigger. Unfortunately, we never managed to find the time and focus needed to bring the project across the finish line. Eventually, development slowed down, and the remake quietly disappeared into the closet alongside countless unfinished ideas.

But some projects never really die.

Over the years, College Romance continued to grow in the background. New concepts appeared, old notes accumulated, and the vision became clearer. It was simply waiting for the right moment.

And today, that moment may finally have arrived.

I still think about this game often, and I believe it deserves a second chance. Not just as a remaster, but as a true reimagining. My goal is to expand the experience significantly, moving away from the old stat-building formula and replacing it with a more engaging quest-based structure.

Most importantly, I want to present College Romance in a way we've never experimented with before.

The original vision relied heavily on traditional 3D-rendered images. This time, however, I'm leaning toward something much more expressive and unique: a comic-book inspired visual style - characters that feel like they've stepped directly out of the pages of a graphic novel.

The early visual tests already look incredibly promising. The new style gives the game far more personality, warmth, and energy than I ever imagined possible. It feels fresh, modern, and at the same time perfectly suited to the romantic and slice-of-life atmosphere that made the original game special.

There's still a long road ahead, but for the first time in years, College Romance is no longer gathering dust on a shelf.
