How about another College Romance?
June 5, 2026Horos development is going just phenomenal - 70% of all sex scenes, side quests, all combat and dialogs are implemented. Right now, we're testing everything and completing all missing scenes. I just love what we've got so far.
But let's talk about something different today.
Do you remember College Romance? The game originally launched back in 2014, which means it's now more than twelve years old. Time really flies. I still remember how warmly it was received by players and how much charm such a simple project managed to deliver.
At its core, College Romance was a lighthearted dating sim built around college life. You attended classes, improved your stats, and pursued relationships with three adorable girls, all wrapped in a cozy atmosphere of studying, friendships, and soft romance. It was easy to pick up, relaxing to play, and if memory serves me right, it featured three intimate scenes with animations that consisted of just a few frames. Simple by today's standards, but back then it did exactly what it needed to do.
A few years ago, I started working on a refreshed version of the game. We rendered a new scene, explored new ideas, and laid the groundwork for something much bigger. Unfortunately, we never managed to find the time and focus needed to bring the project across the finish line. Eventually, development slowed down, and the remake quietly disappeared into the closet alongside countless unfinished ideas.
But some projects never really die.
Over the years, College Romance continued to grow in the background. New concepts appeared, old notes accumulated, and the vision became clearer. It was simply waiting for the right moment.
And today, that moment may finally have arrived.
I still think about this game often, and I believe it deserves a second chance. Not just as a remaster, but as a true reimagining. My goal is to expand the experience significantly, moving away from the old stat-building formula and replacing it with a more engaging quest-based structure.
Most importantly, I want to present College Romance in a way we've never experimented with before.
The original vision relied heavily on traditional 3D-rendered images. This time, however, I'm leaning toward something much more expressive and unique: a comic-book inspired visual style - characters that feel like they've stepped directly out of the pages of a graphic novel.
The early visual tests already look incredibly promising. The new style gives the game far more personality, warmth, and energy than I ever imagined possible. It feels fresh, modern, and at the same time perfectly suited to the romantic and slice-of-life atmosphere that made the original game special.
There's still a long road ahead, but for the first time in years, College Romance is no longer gathering dust on a shelf.
Let us know in the comments what you think about that idea.

First, yes.. college coming of age games would be amazing..
But it would need to be full explore.. go to classes. Join clubs… time management.. ect ect
In terms of stats… I think you need some stats.. relationship stats.. keeping your grades up..
In terms of protagonist.. male or female.. thats two different games… I would say male but female protagonist games are fun to.. but are more… let me make her do as much as possible.. while a male is more.. let me pick my waifu lol
Love the idea of comic style.. something unique..
Yes for the project no for the Cartoony Graphics and visuals!
I also love the idea for the project but have no interest in comic style graphics. I’m personally only interested in more lifelike image style.
Same for me, the cartoonish graphics looks childish for me. This is a style that heavily depends on personal taste and generation you grew in.
hell yes. Loved it and still like it. the new Cartoony Graphics I find interesting and looks good so far 🙂
Looks amazing! Kind of similar to Dispatch, but less cell shaded. Here’s hoping for some Breeding/pregnancy content mixed in, as always
Even more ai-generated content -_-
In the locker room pic, the guy looks like he has three balls.
Yeah! I also noticed that.
If these are hand drawn, sure. I love some good cartoon porn as much as the next guy
I personally think it looks awful. Wasn’t a big fan of the use of AI in the other games, it made the animations smoother compared to the stiff ones of the older games, but it still messes up the faces enough to pull me out, and when it comes to the stills, the facial expressions look lifeless, like with the upcoming Horos expansion. I have accepted it however since you guys do a lot of work, and if the AI helps with the speed of development, then I’ll take it.
When it comes to this though, it just looks plain bad. I was a big fan of the original College Romance, but this AI filter makes the faces look awful, especially the eyes and mouths, the clothes having belly buttons, plus the genitals… I’d rather have 3D renders of the characters, even if you have to remake the models. That’s just me, though. There’s a big enough audience that will not care and buy it anyway but I’m avoiding this one.
Love the style of this project, very appealing.
Hard pass for me sadly not a fan of the comic book visuals
Love the idea, i think u should also revist divided heart that would be also as well.
I like the idea. A different style.
The picture with the couple naked in the dressing room looks like the guy has 3 dicks and one ball or three balls.
I like the idea of the reimagining. But that there is lack of QA on the art…. It is clear that AI is used to help generate these concepts. But there was simply insufficient QA to ensure things are right. It breaks immersion. For example – the male character is generic. But even the generic character does not seem to be the same model across the images. The short haired blonde woman has varying hair length. They all share the same face?
It is issues like this that make me wary – because it seriously breaks immersion for me. Please consider this if you are to use AI further to help with your work
I know it’s subjevtive. I like the artstyle but I’m not into school and college settings still looks good.
I absolutely love the setting/genre and the comic book graphic style presented here. The art is familiar enough, but differentiated enough to look like its own thing.
I think you could be outrageously successful with this concept. There’s a reason some of the most successful VNs on the market use this setting, and a reason why some other tremendously successful VNs use comic style art.
This theme allows for a mountain of sexy scenarios and has a virtually limitless world, since a college campus is massive with a ton of different subcultures. The college structure allows you to just bolt on other characters and main character arcs for fresh game starts, increasing long term replay value.
I like that you’re experimenting with new artistic styles. Also, I’d like to see what a condom would look like in this style – (Should college students be a bit more cautious about sexual behavior?)
