Serena: Yellow Creek + Magnifica
March 20, 2026I have great news for all Serena fans. The current priority is to produce content for the SERENA: YELLOW CREEK demo. Once that’s underway, YamYoda will move on to expanding FRENCH CONFESSIONS.
If everything goes according to plan, I’ll be releasing a new promotional video next week, along with updated visuals on our Steam page. I’m genuinely excited about where this project is heading. We’ll be testing a range of new features, and I’m looking forward to diving into the demo prototype as soon as all the assets are ready.
Crafting HOROS: MAGNIFICA
I’m incredibly proud of how development is shaping up. The experience feels far more cinematic now, with subtle animations adding life to every scene. On top of that, the higher resolution and improved image detail really enhance the overall atmosphere.
We’ve also prepared a special surprise in terms of new content. At last, the Captain Whitebones quest is being presented the way the skeletal captain truly deserves.
Over the next week, I’ll be focusing on translations, optimization, and final beta testing.
The release is planned for April 3rd.
If you haven’t added HOROS to your library yet, now’s the perfect time to get it before it evolves into the MAGNIFICA edition (now with a significant discount).
And stay sharp, because AURORA BOREALIS is about to light up the sky in a few months… and trust me, you’ll want a front-row seat. Wishlist it now if you don’t want Horos to start exploring that island without you.

Wow.. holycow.. serena looks stunning! The artist made some great improvements while keeping what made serena special!
Can’t wait to see the new video- dont change the song! The song is fire!
Song stays – it’s great 🙂
I love Serena’s mother.
And the cop girl
Margaret and Virginia
Definitely feel there is a harem ending in tuis game lol!
Let me just say this. I was a long-time fan but the fall-off in animation departament is tragic. It is clearly AI made, there is no consistency in animations. I know that my opinion would not change how you work but it saddens me deeply that from great stories and beutiful images you have gone to AI slop. Just look at this skeleton. What is this “belly” thing he has and how the facial bones change when he moves, the meat in the teeth disappearing. All the unique thing that you guys had just vanished. And the only explanation that you have is “that it is easier”. But where is quality, consistency and respect for your fans? You have exchanged it for a quick buck made by AI. I am really sad that you have stooped this low.
I get where you’re coming from. Not everyone likes AI-driven animation, and that’s completely fair. At the same time, I don’t think it’s fair to frame our intentions in a way that suggests we’ve abandoned quality or respect for players, because that’s not how we see it at all.
From our perspective, this new approach actually expands what we can do. It allows us to create more dynamic scenes, better motion, more expressive characters, and effects like physics or fluids that would be extremely difficult and time-consuming to achieve with traditional methods alone. It also lets us add more cinematic moments across the entire game, not just in a few key scenes, but also in combat, dialogue, and transitions.
As for the skeleton example, it’s a stylized element in a fantasy setting, not something meant to be anatomically perfect. That said, feedback like yours is still valuable, especially when it points out specific inconsistencies. We are continuously improving these animations, and that kind of detail helps.
I also want to highlight that we’re upgrading HOROS to the MAGNIFICA version for free for all existing Steam players. For us, that’s part of showing appreciation and giving something back to the people who supported the game from the beginning.
You may still prefer the old style, and that’s okay. But this direction isn’t about cutting corners. It’s about opening new possibilities for the game while continuing to improve along the way.
For my hope with ai- as you could create animations with less render we get more Julian and serena sex scenes yes but also more of their moments animated.. kisses, saying goodbye, jokes ect ect. Like if you look at the original.. seeing an animated scene of Julian coming up behind her as she is reading to mess with her shirt and kiss her. Or saying goodbye as she went to work would of been amazing.
Let’s keep the discussion going, For what I noticed, still frames are looking okay, I don’t mind using ai for stills, but the animations even if are looking smooth, give me an uncanny valley vibes, and the faces of characters change, even for a briefest moment it is visble – the expressions look fake and can change in a split second from smiling to jaw drop – it looks unnatural. Second thing with AI anims – hair, it looks like when you ad and endless mesh onto the model on the mesh moves around with the model – it’s really unsettling and gives 90s games vibes. I don’t want to argue, if you want to use AI – you are free to do so. Personally I find this kind of animations uncanny, they are too flawless and that makes them flawed, like they weren’t manmade.
After seeing the new Horos its making me hope that one day the old game Dignity One will get the same treatment. Would be nice to have a sci fi themed adventure game with new monsters and story and locations and expanded trading system etc.
Despite really liking the game’s theme, which is loosely inspired by Firefly (and with rumors of a second season coming this year, possibly animated), I’d still lean toward saying no.
The game didn’t land particularly well with players, and a big part of that came down to its trading system and the amount of effort required to gather resources for selling. In my view, it was simply too complex for the kind of erotic game we’re aiming to create.
That said, on paper, the concept still appeals to me. A mix of simple combat, trading, resource gathering, and romantic or adult interactions sounds like a great combination of features. It’s the kind of blend I’d personally enjoy, even if the execution in this case didn’t quite hit the mark.
We’ve learned a lot since that moment and we got new sci-fi game planned but we need to find time for the development.
I’m extremely disappointed. I used to be a big fan of your company, but I never expected you to stoop so low as to use AI directly. The first and second parts of American Sunset are worlds apart. If this is what you’re going to do, you might as well not have rebooted the game at all.
Yes, there is a huge difference between AMERICAN SUNSET and FRENCH CONFESSIONS – completely different games with same main protagonists. So I’m not sure on which level are you comparing those games but I’m certain that not on the level of animations quality – both sex scenes and animated cumshots. Could you elaborate that?
The upgrade in that area is visible even for someone who is not in the modern technology. The original animations have wooden 20-40 frames, without proper body physics and realistic facial expressions. The one we presented in FRENCH CONFESSIONS got around 160 frames each, with natural body movements and emotions. Yes, those animations are not perfect, we’re basing them on the images created years ago in 1280 x 720 pixel resolution but that was the upgrade worth the effort. Also animated cumshots – in original game we got static images – French Confessions we were able to animate it, putting them on a different level.
That was the first project where we used our new rendering technique – with every new project we’re upgrading it and we’re achieving better results with every new game… Just wait till you’ll see what we’ll be able to present in AURORA BOREALIS and SERENA: YELLOW CREEK.
You’re absolutely entitled to your opinion about AI and the direction we’ve taken, however I have the right to not agree with it. From our perspective, this isn’t about lowering standards. It’s about evolving the animation side of our games and building toward something more dynamic than what we could achieve just a few months ago.
Taking into the account players feedback, the vast majority of our players enjoy those changes – they not afraid of new technologies and understand how those new techniques could improve our products.
Given you guys looked to improve the visuals of serena- i dont think anyone can say your taking shortcuts..
Im more interested.. in the scenario of why serena doing a nude shoot! Maybe some high quality thrist traps for Julian? Nothing says sorry I sent my friend to test you. Like regular high quality nudes sent to your phone lol
Omg talk about shadow dropping the steam update- amazing visual- one question if i may? Based on the new trailer… Tyler fills the role as the IT guy from the first game? If Julian ignores serena he loses her? Or maybe dr hart’s bad influence or else seems a bit out of character for serena..
I like new Julian upgrade though I miss the more red hair.. but looks more realistic now i guess lol
Tyler’s role is much more complex in the game.
In terms of Julian – yes, I wanted to introduce some changes to his look.
I’m glad you like the new trailer.
Nice well he still looks like Julian but also.. like he looks like a guy who could land a girl like serena now lol..
Can’t wait for the demo and the full game – and hope it can recapture why so many people loved the original lws and is very successful!
